Eli would like to announce.....

.....that he will be a......

.....the end of May 2010!!!

I am12 weeks today and very excited and freaked out at the same time!! This little one was TOTALLY planned and we were lucky to get pregnant on our first try! Eli is too cute about my little belly and says "awww baby!" while kissing and hugging it. A couple of Eli's friends have recently had new siblings arrive so that has helped in explaining the whole deal. Of course, he doesn't REALLY get how his life will change, but he at least knows there is a baby involved!

This pregnancy has been similar to Eli's in that I have had NO morning sickness, but MAJOR food aversions. More so with this little guy or girl as I for a few weeks there, I literally wanted NOTHING to eat but was also starving...not a good combination. Eating was a chore!! I only wanted fruit and junk food like macaroni & cheese & taco bell. I feel better now but still have aversions to some foods. I also have experienced fatigue, breast tenderness (TMI, probably ;), and breathlessness. Breathlessness is a new one for me, but probably more so due to chasing around a 2 year old than anything. The fact that Eli still nurses some has also probably made my symptoms more exaggerated this time around!

Our official due date is May 24, 2010. If he/she is late like Eli, he/she may be a June baby, who knows! I am very glad to be under chiropractic care and doing yoga this pregnancy to help with back, hip & pelvis pain. Looking forward to the fun 2nd trimester where I'll be nesting & we'll learn the sex of this little person!

Here's a belly pic for this week below. I hope to post about Eli & pregnancy separately once a week, but don't hold me to that :) Have a great week everyone!

P.S. My good friend Tori made Eli's shirt! Check out her website for more cute clothing: http://monkeystitch.wordpress.com/

Happy Halloween, from our little firefighter!

Hope everyone had a fun & safe Halloween! This year we were still able to "choose" for Eli what his costume would be...knowing next year he'll have a lot to say about what he wants to be :)

To start the Halloween festivities, Eli helped daddy carve a "happy face" pumpkin. Daddy asked if he wanted a happy or scary pumpkin and he wanted happy:

All ready!:

"This asking for candy thing is AWESOME!!":

Eli enjoyed trick-or-treating but unfortunately, the first house we went to he tripped on his fireman coat and face planted on their porch. He has a nice little bruise and cried for awhile, but he got over it. He did want daddy to carry him for the remainder of the excursion, though.

Have a great week!

Cold weather & Pumpkin Patches

I think it's officially cold weather here (you never know around here) and soon it will be too cold to venture outside too often. This will be hard for us, but I'm sure we'll bundle up when we can to take a walk or play in the snow. Here is Eli bundled up for a fall walk:

Eli visited 2 pumpkin patches in the last couple of weeks and had a fun time! The first one was in Iowa and was just up the road from Grandpa & Lola's house. I was with my sisters for Sarah & Steph's shower/bachelorette party so I didn't attend, but from the pictures you can tell it was fun!:

The 2nd pumpkin patch I did attend with him and it was at a local orchard. It was a Parents As Teachers event so we attended with our buddies Jack, Charlie & Callie. Here is Eli sitting next to Jack on the wagon ride to the pumpkin patch:

Picking out a pumpkin!:

After several attempts of finding (I mean throwing) the right pumpkin, I helped him find the perfect one:

Inside they had a train set....a little boy favorite:

Then we had a picnic lunch out in the field. It was a WONDERFULLY warm day so it was perfect:

The boys:

We'll have some great Halloween pictures, I'm sure, as we are attending 2 costume activities and then of course, trick-or-treating. Stay tuned to see what Eli chose to be this year! Have a good one!

Sorry!

Hello Eli fans! Just a little note that I WILL post sometime soon. I have been busy with work and was out of town last weekend so there just seems to not be enough hours in the day! Hope everyone is well!

Just some Eli fun....

This week consisted of taking some fun shots of our silly boy! Enjoy!

Eli's new activity....I mean obsession....is playing in the kitchen sink. We have to literally set the kitchen timer to encourage him to move on to something else before our water bill is sent through the roof! At least we know he'll wash dishes when he is older:

Wearing daddy's glasses is fun!:

Looking up at the clouds with daddy:

And yes, Eli still loves to push around his stroller on walks:

Eli loves the older neighbor boys in our neighborhood. If he sees them outside he makes a quick bee line to play:

Trucks & baseball!

This weekend, we attended 2 fun activities: Touch-A-Truck & a Royals baseball game! I'll let most of these pictures speak for themselves, but Touch-A-Truck will for sure be a yearly favorite for our family. We took Eli last year and he really loved it. This year he is walking (& running & jumping :) so he had a grand ol' time! Enjoy!

We attended the last home game series of the season against the Twins. We took Eli last year, but again, he is mobile this year so we spent about 20 minutes total in our seats. The stadium was remodeled so we did a lot of exploring. They built a fun kid area so that was perfect to explore. Royals lost, but when we arrived a little late, the Royals scored TWO home runs which resulted in fireworks. As you can imagine, Eli was in heaven!!

Have a great week!

"Happy Birthday to my Mommy!"

I woke up to these cute words today uttered by Eli. Yes, Eli, I am 31 years OLDER than you (do the math) are! Cute morning followed with Starbucks, cards, play at the park, and playtime at the mall including a ride on the carousel. Wouldn't want to spend my birthday with any one else but my little man (and big man, but he has to work)! Thank you sweet boy (s)!
